Overview of Organisation
Aim and Activities: The National Autistic Society (NAS) is the UKs leading charity for people with autism (including Asperger Syndrome). The NAS in Scotland offers a range of services and support for people with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and their families. The North West regional team based at Inverness cover the Highlands, the Western Isles, Argyll and Bute, Shetland Islands and the Orkney Islands. Services and support include seminars for parents and professionals, information provision, and local parent groups/NAS Branches. The NAS also offers a range of telephone and online information/support services, including our Autism Helpline, Advocacy for Education service and Signpost, a web resource which offers personalised information relevant to age, location and diagnosis.
